Nerviano Medical Sciences (NMS) is the largest pharmaceutical R&D facility in Italy and one of the largest oncology-focused, integrated discovery and development companies in Europe. Stemming from the longstanding heritage of Farmitalia Carlo Erba, NMS was incorporated in May 2004 by Pfizer and its location is in Nerviano, a small town just outside Milano.
The IEO (European Institute of Oncology) project was launched in 1987, with the aim of creating a “comprehensive cancer centre” with research laboratories and clinical services.
The main objective of IEO is to promote health through the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, within a context characterised by ongoing interaction with the research world and a special attention to the quality of the service offered to patients.

It pursues research purposes in the biomedical field and in the organization of health services, according to the standard of excellence. The IRCCS CRO also has tasks of high specific training.
